Stags' Leap Cellars gained world recognition after the now famous blind tasting in Paris in when their1973 SLV Cabernet was judged best above four First-Growth Bordeaux entries. Their 2005 Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon is decadent, with aromas of Bing cherries and truffle. On the palate the wine is dense with truckloads of mocha on the midpalate. The aromas carry over to the palate with additional flavors of cassis, orange peel, and clove. This medium to full-bodied wine has fine grained, smooth tannins. and its firm structure and fine balance make it a perfect accompaniment to classic chop house fare.
